JESUS ORELLANA (1981) es el artífice de este corto, un trabajo absolutamente increible , sin más ayuda que su imaginación y su tiempo. Os recomiendo ver este corto porqué es bellísimo, y está hecho de forma increiblemente detallada. Y lo más sorprendente es conseguir este resultado sin presupuesto y sin ayuda. No nos extraña que esté teniendo tanto éxito en múltiples Festivales de cine.
Viendo el Corto, sobran las palabras
ROSA es un cortometraje de animación situado en un mundo post-apocalíptico donde toda vida natural ha desaparecido. Entre la destrucción despierta Rosa, cyborg parte del proyecto Kernel, el ultimo intento de la raza humana para salvar el ecosistema terrestre. Rosa pronto descubrirá que no es el único ente que ha despertado y deberá luchar por su supervivencia.
El corto fue creado íntegramente por el joven autor de novelas gráficas Jesús Orellana sin presupuesto durante un año. Desde su premiere mundial en el festival de cine de Seattle, ROSA ha sido selección oficial en festivales de todo el mundo como Screamfest, Toronto After Dark, Anima Mundi o Los Angeles Shorts Film Festival. En octubre ROSA fue proyectado durante la ceremonia de inauguración del festival de Sitges, considerado el mejor festival del mundo especializado en genero fantástico.
Tras su exitoso paso por festivales, el corto ha atraído la atención de las mayores agencias de talentos y productores Hollywoodienses. 20th Century Fox adaptará a largometraje de imagen real ROSA, que dirigirá el propio Jesús Orellana. La pelicula será producida por Simon Kinberg de Genre Films, junto a Scott Glassgold & Raymond Brothers de I Am Entertainment. El guión estará basada en una historia original de Jesús Orellana que expandirá el cortometraje original.
ROSA is an epic sci-fi short film that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where all natural life has disappeared. From the destruction awakes Rosa, a cyborg deployed from the Kernel project, mankind’s last attempt to restore the earth’s ecosystem. Rosa will soon learn that she is not the only entity that has awakened and must fight for her survival.
The short-film was created entirely by young comic-artist Jesús Orellana with no budget during a single year. Since it's world premiere at the Seattle International Film Festival, ROSA has been an official selection at film festivals around the world such as Screamfest, Toronto After Dark, Anima Mundi or Los Angeles Shorts Film Festival. In October ROSA was screened at the opening night of the Sitges International Film Festival, considered the world's best festival specialized in genre films.
Following the succesful festival run, the short film has attracted the attention of the major talent-agencies and Hollywood producers. 20th Century Fox will be adapting a Live-Action Feature of ROSA to be directed by Jesús Orellana. It will be produced by Simon Kinberg of Genre Films, along with Scott Glassgold & Raymond Brothers of I Am Entertainment. The script will be based on an original story by Jesús Orellana that will expand from the original short film.
